SONGS AND THEIR MEANING

GOTTA LOVE
SONGWRITERS
They say the best songs speak to people. With that in mind we thought it might make for some good entertainment to gather up a few Nashville songwriters, head down some back roads and go speak to people directly in search of some inspiration. We’ll go learn about people’s lives, explore their locales and inevitably be inspired by their stories and the histories of their hometowns.
Like the country and it’s many cultures, the content of the American Song Book is deep and diverse. It becomes even deeper when we add the great music that only a few have heard and sadly, many never will. The world, and especially Nashville, is full of great songs that never get out to the masses. So many songs from talented songwriters fall by the wayside simply because of logistics, limited air space, promotion money, lack of business “know-how,” and personal struggles. Even hit writers have trouble getting some of their favorite songs out because of these things. With this show, we aim to give them an outlet to allow people to hear the songs that deserve to be heard, and we know you will appreciate it.
Giving a nod toward Americana, the songwriters and players you’ll enjoy on American Road Songs will play mainly acoustic music. You will hear all genres embraced and presented on the show, and we suppose, occasionally we may want to crank an amp, but the music will usually be performed with traditional instruments. Expect plenty of fiddles, acoustic guitars, stand-up basses, banjos, squeeze boxes, wind instruments, and the occasional homemade oddity.
